Pay-It-Forward Sew Along
Join us to support Sew Powerful and make a difference for girls in Zambia
This National Sewing Month, we’re excited to bring the bag making community together for a special opportunity to sew, connect, and pay it forward.
On September 30, Simply Classic will be co-hosting a free sew along for the bag making community. During this virtual event, we’re inviting participants to dig into their fabric stash and make a bag in support of Sew Powerful, an incredible 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization making a meaningful difference in the lives of girls in Zambia.
Sew Powerful employs and empowers communities in Zambia by creating purposeful products such as school uniforms, reusable hygiene pads, soap, and farm fresh food. We will be supporting the Purse Project by sewing and donating crossbody bags using Sew Powerful's free patterns. Their team in Zambia will fill the bags with hygiene supplies for girls in the community who would otherwise miss school due to their menstrual cycles.

Keep in mind that this is a community event, not a class or workshop. We won't be going over every step of the sewing process together, but our co-hosts will be available to answer questions throughout the sew along.
