The Double Stitch Sew Along – The Zara Hack with That's Sew Nova

📅 JOIN THE SEW ALONG ON APRIL 28: THE ZARA HACK

Join us for a live sew along on Zoom on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at 1 pm EST. We'll be making the Zara shoulder bag with a twist (or two)!

This online event is hosted by Chris Murphy of Simply Classic with special guest Chanova Mabry of That’s Sew Nova. It is not a traditional class or workshop; our goal is to create an experience that feels like we’re all gathered in a virtual room, sewing side by side. You may choose to keep your camera on or off — whatever you're more comfortable with. Click here to preview the sew along schedule.

On this sew along, we will hack the Zara pattern in two different ways.

• Striped front panel: Use two (or more) different materials to construct a designer-inspired panel on the front of your bag.
• Braided handle: Replace the crossbody strap with a gorgeous braided handle.

We'll also brainstorm other modifications and embellishments that you can incorporate into your bag.

What's Included

When you register, you will automatically receive an email with a .ZIP file that includes:

• The Zara PDF Pattern
  
• List of materials needed to complete the hacks
• Steps to prepare your pattern pieces before the event
• Pattern changes for additional pattern pieces
• Schedule/agenda for the sew along
• Link to join the sew along on Zoom

We will send a reminder email approximately one hour before the event begins. To receive the reminder email, please make sure you're subscribed to Simply Classic's email list. (This is optional. If you are not subscribed, you'll still receive the initial email confirmation with the link to the Zoom meeting, but you will not receive the reminder email.)

The sew along is expected to run approximately four hours. A link to the Zoom recording will be emailed within two business days after the event.
